Cups and Trophies
Henley Sailing Club races for a collection of cups and trophies throughout the season — some dating back decades.
Racing at HSC is organised around a series of cups and trophies covering different formats and parts of the season. Some are season-long series decided on accumulated points; others are decided on the day. There are cups specifically for juniors, for novices, for ladies, and Open Days where visiting sailors can compete — so whatever level you’re at, there’s something to race for.
How the scoring works
For season-long series: 1 point for starting, 1 point for finishing, 1 point for each boat beaten, ½ point for winning. Minus 2 points if disqualified. Each series has a minimum number of races to qualify, and a maximum number that count towards the final total.
For one-day events: scored on the RYA system for a short series.
